Meet Adriana, a Chickee's Dance World student since she was 8 years old, Adriana was on the Bravo TV show called Step It Up And Dance.

Often described as a Jennifer Beals look alike, this avid Red Sox fan was born and raised in Shrewsbury, MA. After graduating from Umass Amherst where she served as a captain on the Umass Dance Team, Adriana made her way to New York. She was accepted into the internship program at the Broadway Dance Center, studying under Ginger Cox. Adriana soon joined Cox's Link dance company, and has since performed at various events including the International Dance Festival in New York, and On With The Dance benefitting Dancer's Responding to Aids.

Adriana was a featured dancer in the opening ceremonies for the U.S. Open, Spain's Le Cirque-The Company, as well as the Future Stars Gala for CMI Productions. She has also served as a choreographer and actress in several independent films, and is currently working with Bloch Footwear to develop new dance shoes for both students and professional dancers.

Adriana is inspired by her mother, and says "My mother's strengths and struggles have inspired my work."

Jackie - Since graduating from Burncoat High School and Chickee's, Jackie has been attending UMass Amherst as a Kinesiology major and Psychology minor, and has been part of the Commonwealth College Honors Program. She joined the UMass Dance Team in her freshman year and has been on it ever since. They perform at all home football and men's basketball games, and compete in both regional and national competitions. The team also attends and performs at a variety of events on campus, and volunteers for events such as Relay For Life and the U-Dance Marathon, which is an overnight dance marathon to raise money for the Children's Miracle Network.

Jackie spent her spring semester of 2008 studying abroad in Australia, where she was able to travel to places like the Outback and the Great Barrier Reef. She took classes at the University of Wollongong in the Exercise Rehabilitation Department, where she experienced a different view of the healthcare system and rehabilitation practices.

She's currently a senior and will be graduating in May of 2009, and is planning to go to graduate school in the fall to get her doctorate degree in Physical Therapy.

Jackie is very greatful for the education she recieved at Chickee's and will always miss her friends at the studio.

Jazmin of Worcester has been crowned Miss Massachusetts Junior Teen United States and went on to compete in the Miss Junior Teen United States 2008 Pageant in July in Las Vegas. Jazmin was sponsored by Chickee’s Dance World and friends. Click here for the story in Bay State Parent Magazine.

Jazmin is currently in the eighth grade and is a very active member of the student body.  She holds several leadership positions, including Varsity Cheer Squad Captain, Student Council member and Jr. National Honor Society member.

Outside of school, Jazmin competes in dance with Chickee’s Dance World in Worcester; she also cheers for the Pop Warner Worcester Vikings.

Melissa is a Worcester native currently residing in New York City and living with fellow CDW alumni, Adriana. She has been pursuing a performance career for the past three years and has performed in many off-off broadway plays throughout the city.

About ten months ago Melissa was featured in the independent film "Leave Me Behind" which has since been screened in several film festivals throughout the country and in London. In the middle of September, "Leave Me Behind" will be having its New York premiere at the New York International Independent Film and Video Festival, and will be screened at the Village East Cinemas in the city.
